Long-tailed Duck new in

Offshore
Observations on the rising tide (0930-1030) produced 225 Razorbill, 117 Kittiwake, 40 Guillemot, 8 Gannet, 8 Common Scoter, 5 Shag, 4 Red-throated Diver and 3 Red-breasted Merganser.
Grounded Migrants
Early morning thrushes 4 Song Thrush and single Redwing and Mistle Thrush.
Diurnal Migration
Small groups of Skylark, Meadow Pipit and Pied/White Wagtail were noted heading out over the sea with a Merlin in attendance.
Wildfowl and Waders
A female Long-tailed Duck was newly arrived, the Brent Goose flock held 10 dark-bellied and 2 pale-bellied birds and waders included 7 Greenshank.
Miscellaneous
Little Egret numbers continue to build with a record 88 birds now present along the eastern side of the island. A Water Rail was the best of the rest.
