Marsh Harrier moves through

12th April 2010 – sunny spells SW1/2
Offshore
Remaining quiet over the sea early morning with just small numbers of Red-throated Diver, Gannet, Common Scoter and Sandwich Tern seen.
Grounded Migrants
The day dawned to bright and clear skies, conditions not conducive to producing grounded birds and the result: 11 Wheatear, 9 White Wagtail and a Willow Warbler.
Diurnal Migration
Corvids were on the move with small numbers of Carrion Crow, Rook and Jackdaw logged along with 2 Sand Martin and a Lesser Redpoll. Late news from yesterday involved a female-type Marsh Harrier that flew south late afternoon.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 12 Purple Sandpiper amongst 410 Turnstone and the pair of Gadwall still continue to loiter.
Miscellaneous
Single Little Egret and Merlin and 43 Twite were recorded.
