First Manx Shearwaters appear offshore

Offshore
Variety rather than quantity remained the theme over the sea with early morning observations (0800-0900) producing the first 2 Manx Shearwater of the year along with 146 Common Scoter, 135 Sandwich Tern, 51 Razorbill, 22 Gannet, 16 Guillemot, 6 Red-throated Diver, 5 Red-breasted Merganser and 5 Kittiwake.
Grounded Migrants
The settled weather conditions continue to dominate and another quiet day provided just 7 Wheatear.
Diurnal Migration
Small numbers of Swallow, Lesser Redpoll and alba Wagtail were logged coming in off the sea amongst 50 Meadow Pipit.
Miscellaneous
A Peregrine was the best of the rest.
