Further small scale movement

Offshore
Observations over the rising tide produced just small numbers of Gannet, Common Scoter and Razorbill.
Grounded Migrants
A single Blackcap was logged and newly arrived thrushes included 5 Blackbird, 3 Song Thrush and 2 Redwing.
Diurnal Migration
Small numbers of birds were again on the move through the morning with totals including 275 Starling, 72 Jackdaw, 23 Greenfinch, 17 Whooper Swan, 10 Chaffinch, 7 Redpoll, 7 alba Wagtail, 4 Twite, 4 Reed Bunting, 2 Mistle Thrush and a Rock Pipit.
Wildfowl and Waders
A flock of 1000 Golden Plover was the only record of note.
Miscellaneous
Single Water Rail and Merlin were seen.
Dragonflies
A late Migrant Hawker was on the wing.
Moths
The moth traps revealed the first island record of the micro Exapate congelatella.
