Fieldfares and Pink-footed Geese on the move

Offshore
Just small numbers of Gannet, Common Scoter, Razorbill and Guillemot were logged early morning.
Grounded Migrants
Again thrushes were to the fore with 18 Blackbird, 11 Song Thrush and 2 Redwing grounded at dawn along with 2 Blackcap.
Diurnal Migration
The first hour after dawn saw the skies alive with birds with smaller passage then continuing through the day. Totals included 1440 Pink-footed Goose, 900 Fieldfare, 190 Jackdaw, 180 Starling, 41 Tree Sparrow, 40 Greenfinch, 34 Chaffinch, 18 Meadow Pipit, 10 Redwing, 9 alba Wgtail, 9 Skylark, 7 Reed Bunting, 4 Song Thrush, 2 Brambling, 2 Swallow, 2 Little Egret and single Siskin and Twite.
Miscellaneous
Several Merlin and a Water Rail remain and the Little Egret pre-roost gathering held 33 birds. Two Great Spotted Woodpecker were logged.
