Jay brace

25th September 2009 - overcast WSW3/4
Offshore
There was little stirring over the sea on the rising tide (1300-1400) with just small numbers of Gannet, Red-throated Diver, Razorbill, Guillemot and Common Scoter logged.
Grounded Migrants
A solitary Chiffchaff was perhaps the sole true migrant, however, a brace of Jay were a surprise - the island is not noted for its woodland species.
Wildfowl and Waders
A group of 8 Greenshank were the only record of note.
Miscellaneous
At least 6 Little Egret and the Kingfisher remain. A Peregrine toured the island.
