Pink-footed Geese begin to move through

Offshore
Morning observations (0800-0900) produced 34 Gannet, 10 Common Scoter, 4 Razorbill, 3 Scaup, 2 Guillemot and a Red-throated Diver.
Diurnal Migration
Interrmittent observations (0900-1130) revealed a strong passge with 3165 Meadow Pipit, 390 Swallow, 140 Skylark, 140 Pink-footed Goose, 80 Linnet, 48 alba Wagtail, 28 Grey Wagtail, 6 House Martin, 4 Lesser Redpoll, 3 Siskin and 2 Reed Bunting seen.
Grounded Migrants
Again a light sprinkling of grounded birds was led by at least one Great Spotted Woodpecker and also included 16 Goldcrest, 12 Stonechat, 8 Chiffchaff, 3 Wheatear and single Reed Warbler and Blackcap.
Wildfowl and Waders
Waders included 230 Golden Plover, 10 Greenshank and a Black-tailed Godwit.
Miscellaneous
Both Peregrine and Merlin hunted over the island and at least one Water Rail remains. Goldfinch numbers begin to build with a flock of 140 birds logged.
