Black Guillemot leads offshore sightings

Observations through the course of the morning (0820-0920 & 1100-1200) were highlighted by a summer plumaged Black Guillemot drifting out of Morecambe Bay on the ebbing tide. Other sightings included 40 Gannet, 15 Sandwich Tern, 5 Manx Shearwater, 3 Arctic Tern, 3 Razorbill, 3 Kittiwake and single Shag, Red-throated Diver, Fulmar, Guillemot and pale phase Arctic Skua.
Grounded Migrants
A single Lesser Whitethroat and Willow Warbler remain along with 6 Wheatear.
Diurnal Migration
A total of 8 Swift and a single Swallow battled their way across the sea.
Wildfowl and Waders
A total of 10 Whimbrel were logged.
